Product Controller

DESCRIPTION:

CONTRACT//LONDON//£300-320 PER DAY

Responsible for ensuring that the Emissions and Power Options daily PnL is reported accurately and in a timely manner. All PnL reconciliations need to be completed on time and to the desired level. The appropraite candidate will be able to work within the banks control environment and be able to produce daily PnL work to the correct level of detail. The candidate will be be required to communicate well within the team and have the appropriate probelm solving skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

- Daily PnL reconciliations and reporting for the Emissions and Power Options desks.
- Morning and EOD checks/controls to ensure that all PnLs, prices have been loaded correctly into the relevant systems.
- Daily consolidation of commodity PnL reports for management.
- Improving current daily PnL processes for Emissions and Power Options.
- Assist manager with month end reconciliations/controls and reporting.
- Exchange/Balance sheet reconciliations.
- Adhoc daily and monthly tasks and reports.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Product control experience with an understanding of the appropriate controls within Middle Office.
- Knowledge of physical/financial commodity markets.
- Knowledge of commodity options markets.
- Strong analytical skills; problem solving (error detection, root cause analysis, error correction), conceptual, analytical, and decision making skills.
- Advanced Excel, Access or SQL skills. Ability to extract and profile data and work in database environments.
- Attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple conflicting priorities.

DESIRED SKILLS:

- Knowledge of commodity markets (Emissions and Power options).
- Experience supporting trading desk/Middle Office/operations/finance are desirable.
- Knowledge of Open Link Endur is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Oracle system is an advantage.
- Team player with good communication skills.
