Tier One Investment Bank based at Canary Wharf has an immediate requirement for an experienced Product Controller to work within their Product Control area. This contract is an initail 6 months but has scope and budget to go further into 2014.

Overall goal
*Line Control is responsible for understanding and controlling the trading business by substantiating the completeness, accuracy and validity of all business related corporate data that is used by Financial Control, Market Risk, Credit Risk,
*Production aspects of Product Control's primary role, which is the financial guardianship of the Bank's sales and trading activities.

Essential skills
*Fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
*3-5 years' experience working in an Investment Bank within Product Control
*Demonstrable experience in building close working relationships with senior individuals in the organisation
*Proven track record in the production of high-quality financial/management information
*Strong preference for candidates with Emerging Markets experience in particular credit.

Desired skills
*Candidate should be highly-numerate, have attention to detail and have a keen interest in complex products.
*Candidate should demonstrate good control over deliverables and have a highly-methodical approach to manage large number of tasks that are completed on a daily/monthly basis.
*Role requires a good understanding of P&L drivers, moves and variances, nature of the products traded, data flow/storage/processing, reasons behind breaks and accurate P&L reporting.

Key Deliverables
*Daily P+L production, including FOBO reconciliations and resolution of reconciling items
*P+L Validation and Analysis (including clean P+L), Journal Entry and Review
*Monthly and quarterly production, which includes Account Ownership, Book Management, Legal

Entity and Regulatory
*Reporting and Accounting Policy implementation
*Control reporting, which includes appropriate escalation of issues, Audit Points, Control Improvement Points, Incident
*Reporting and SOX documentation and reporting.
