Product Architect - Cloud Data Management - Azure/Hortonworks

Cloud Data Management SME required by a major global Dutch brand to join in the capacity of Product Architect for Cloud Data Management including Product Strategy.

Our client is a major multi-billion dollar organisation who are midway through their journey into the Cloud. They have recently gone live with Cloud 1.0, spanning AWS and Azure and are now looking to embark on their Cloud Data Management programme which is likely to focus on Azure Data Services, HortonWorks and HDInsight.

This hire will work across the organisation providing product and technical leadership in the realm of Cloud Data Management. You will create a strategy and roadmap and work with Senior Management in the business and in the Data and Cloud functions to deliver a world-class platform. You will own the product and technical architecture and be the conduit between the existing BI & Data function and the Cloud Platform function as the organisation roll out the latest Cloud Data Management functionality. Concepts. The ideal candidate will have experience in a customer facing roles and success leading deep technical architecture and design discussions with senior management.

REQUIREMENTS

Senior experience with deep understanding in both traditional and modern data architecture and processing concepts, including relational databases (eg, SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle), Data warehousing, big data (Hadoop, Spark, Storm), NoSQL, and business analytics

Track-record of success in consultative/complex technical deployment projects (where necessary, managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solutions)

Expertise in architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of complex application architectures (ie having an architectural sense for connecting data sources, data visualization, structured and unstructured data)

Understanding of big data use-cases and Hadoop-based design patterns Knowledge of Real Time/stream analytics trends

Demonstrable hands-on experience implementing Big Data solutions using Microsoft Data Platform and Azure Data Services.

Working knowledge with AGILE development, SCRUM and Application Lifecycle Management

Proficient in Azure cloud computing including big data technologies.

Experience of hybrid and/or cloud architectures that utilise Azure

Experience in or exposure to solutions that are analytical in nature, employing data-centric architectures

Data technology literate with a detailed understanding of data architecture and data tools and technologies, in particular in memory/in database and open source technology.

Experience of advanced data analytics and insights techniques (eg, predictive, segmentation, recommendation and sentiment analytics, machine learning techniques and leveraging structured and unstructured data)

Experience working directly within teams developing solutions based on statistics, machine learning, regression models and optimization techniques to distil meaningful business insight from data
