My client, a leading public sector organisation, is seeking to recruit a skilled Procurement Unit Manager to join their team onsite in the North of England. As a Procurement Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial management of the contract monitoring spend, risk and change. The ideal candidate have a wealth of experience in procurement as well as being qualified to MCIPS level.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

*Commercial management of the contract monitoring spend, risk and change
*Support Senior Contract Manager in effective relationship management and other key stakeholders
*Commercial oversight of related interfaces with other providers in their designated area
*Management, development and performance review of commercial contract manager;
*Making recommendation to commercial Deputy Director on payment of invoices, execution of changes, escalation of disputes, and management of risk, issues and opportunities register
*Lead commercial manager for ICT and property related issues/estates strategy for region
*Completing fortnightly reports to commercial Deputy Director and CAP reports
*Seek and exploit opportunities for achieving cashable and operational efficiencies.

Key Knowledge and Skills

*Qualified purchasing professional (MCIPS)
*Member of, or studying for membership of, the International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM);
*Working towards membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or relevant degree, such as in law or finance, MBA
*Related industry experience.
