PROCUREMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST, COMMERCIAL SUPPORT, PROCUREMENT SUPPORT, PUBLIC SECTOR, CENTRAL GOVERNMENT, PROCUREMENT FUNCTION, PROCUREMENT LAW, STRATEGIC LAW

A new position has developed to join a high profile client of ours, working as a Procurement Support in London. The main purpose of this role is to support all aspects of the Procurement function and in areas key to the delivery of the our client's Procurement Strategies. This will include the management of commercial competition, adherence with EU/UK procurement law and strategic supply chain management

ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Can demonstrate and contribute with high levels of energy to the development of the procurement team as the exemplar in the field of procurement
- Able to record and identify benefits and savings from Procurement projects, support the team in other aspects of administration
- Implement change to procurement processes/products dispelling misconceptions from planning through to implementation whilst considering the practical issues involved. Coordinate the success of change by managing stakeholders effectively
- Support the development and dissemination of Procurement processes and best practice across the Procurement team
- Support the development and application of procurement benchmarking tools, processes and analysis for the procurement team
- Support further development of the SAP procurement system, vendor database and ensure its continuing suitability to support the required processes and desired outputs
- Improve/develop and deliver effective and insightful reports on procurements performance (progress against business plans, balanced scorecard, cost movements, metrics, data etc).

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

- Educated to degree level/MCIPS and/or equivalent experience, or working towards MCIPS.
- Pressured Procurement environment that requires that you have the experience of supporting and managing procurement policies, procedures and systems
- To act as a professional point of liaison between key stakeholders and Procurement.
- Assisting the Procurement team to develop and implement a strategic plan for category spend including addressing risk-analysis and contingency planning, and create and maintain a knowledge transfer system for future category managers
- Ability to use a variety of computer software including developing and maintaining spreadsheets and databases (including SAP, Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint etc)
- Strong Analytical skills
- Proven experience of provision reports, data analysis
- The ability to make a clear, persuasive presentation of ideas or facts, verbally or in writing; to convince others to gain agreement or acceptance of proposals or views
- An understanding of a commodity/category management approach to procurement
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills
