Rate: £38.80 per hour LTD

OUTSOURCE UK LTD is actively seeking to recruit a Procurement/ Supply Chain Specialist for a contract role on behalf of a client.

THE CLIENT:
A leading Engineering and Defence organisation

THE JOB:
The Supply Chain Specialist will report to the Supply Chain Manager and will work within a multi function, integrated project team environment (IPT) to lead subcontract activities within the supply base. They will develop and apply procurement processes within projects to source goods and services where the value, risk or contract warrants special definition or conditions beyond those for a routine purchase. They will work with other functional representatives and/or customers/suppliers to meet operational needs of line management and the business. The role requires a good broad professional knowledge and understanding of Procurement/Subcontract Mgt principles and practices, including an understanding of the impact and implications of decisions made. Suitable candidates with Commercial, Procurement, Project Engineering/ Management experience will be considered. Suitable candidate to be self motivated, conscientious and a focused individual.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
The successful Procurement/ Supply Chain Specialist candidate will be responsible for the following:
Manage the Procurement Strategy and the material budget for the nominated Project procurable packages.
Liaise with internal/external customers to capture requirements and contracts in the required timescale ensuring liabilities and risks are managed and requirements effectively flowed down to the sub-contractors.
Responsible for all activities associated with the procurement life cycle from Tendering/Request for Quotations, Down selections, Negotiations flowing through to contract placement and subsequent management of the supply chain with focus and control of the Change Process post contract award.
Responsible for monitoring & reporting the Procurement status and leading the interface between the Procurement Teams, the Supply Chain and the Project Team, providing timely resolution to both project and procurement queries for the nominated Project procurable packages.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of Procurement Plans and delivery schedules in collaboration with programme management
Provide necessary information to support management reporting

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE
Team Working Skills (within a multidisciplinary team)
Ability to work to deadlines
Personal Initiative and good communication skills
Self-Motivated
SAP skills would be advantageous but training can be provided if required
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Understanding/appreciation of Earned Value Management (EVM)
