Procurement Specialist - Vehicle Fleet

PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST (VEHICLE FLEET) - 3 MONTH CONTRACT + EXTENSION - CENTRAL BELT LOCATIONS (EDINBURGH, GLASGOW, DUNFERMLINE) - JA/REQ/030933

RZ Groups client requires an experienced Procurement professional to support the vehicle fleet team in the delivery of a vehicle fleet replacement programme. Procurement experience in the vehicle fleet category or similar is essential.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

Responsible for supporting the Fleet Manager and Fleet capital Maintenance Manager on a Vehicle Replacement Programme. Activities include:

- Profile the required number of vehicles replacements across the company;
- Agree vehicles specifications with numerous internal customers;
- Confirm requirements with suppliers;
- Work with the procurement team to understand and follow due process; and,
- Coordinate the rollout of vehicles pan Scotland in order to prevent any disruption to the service provision.

The successful candidate will ideally have a background either within a Fleet Category role or may of worked for a major vehicle leasing company. The candidate will have a strong technical understanding of the fleet category along with knowledge of negotiating commercial agreements with manufacturers and large leasing companies. The candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to manage large levels of spend, as well as liaise with internal and external stakeholders across various regions gaining buy in to all procurement activities.

KEY SKILLS:

- Project Management (APM/PRINCE 2)
- Knowledge of confirming vehicle specifications (LCV, HGV, Tankers) with customers
- Experience of medium to large scale fleet procurement (through various suppliers)
- Experience of fleet rollout across large geographical area
- Good customer liaison skills
- Experience of liaising with vehicles suppliers to confirm specifications and timescales for delivery
- Experience of preparing vehicle replacement profiles and proposals/business cases
- Experience of managing procurement within a significant budget
