Procurement Specialist Job

PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST needed for a CONTRACT HIRE opportunity with Yoh's client located in PALM BAY, FL.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Candidate must have 6-8 years of hands on buyer experience
- Client does not want high level, supervisory or management types
- Must have significant government FAR/DAR experience because this person will be dealing with Space/Military applications
- Experienced buyer that buys on a day to day basis

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Procures material, equipment, supplies, services and commodity products of low to medium value, high to medium volume and complexity
- Receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments
- Evaluates cost and analyzes supplier bids to attain the best overall value for the client
- Negotiates price, delivery and quality of products/services and determines supplier selections
- Acts as a primary point of contact to manage overall relationships with critical suppliers in order to facilitate long-term partnerships
- Interprets FAR/DFAR/ITAR laws, rules and regulations regarding import/export control certifications and licenses
- Tracks all Purchase Orders through reports, works matched exceptions, open commitments, receiving discrepancies, returns, supplier discrepancies, and problem reports/supplier corrective action responses
- Interfaces with receiving and accounting to resolve issues

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Want hands on experience - 6-8 years buyer
- Must have significant government FAR/DAR experience
- This person will be dealing with Space/Military applications
- We are looking for strong candidates in the Government FAR/DAR area. Need someone to come in with experience and hit the road running
- We want an experienced buyer that buys on a day to day basis
