Procurement Specialist

Accountable for ensuring procurement best practice is adopted, you will be a first point of contact within the business for advice and expertise. An integral part of the Indirect Buying team, you will enjoy a positive impact on performance, by challenging the way things are done and ensuring a strong focus on effective processes. Proactively targeting cost and service improvements, you will ensure optimisation of expenditure. Ultimately, you will be instrumental in ensuring that customer promises are fulfilled, as well as shareholders and regulators alike. Reporting to a Category Manager you will manage an assigned sub-category to ensure short and long term value through formulation and implementation of sub category sourcing strategies to achieve the business objectives and/or the lowest total cost of ownership.

Responsibilities:
* Assist development of sourcing, negotiation candidates should be capable of operating with the minimum of guidance and be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the business Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects and stakeholders
* Proven track record in negotiation and supply relationship management
* Expert understanding of supply markets within the relevant sub category/activity

The position is a 12 month fixed term contract, based in Worcester.
