Procurement Specialist

Engineering & Construction client near Allentown, PA is looking for a Project Procurement Specialist with 7-20+ years of experience supporting heavy industrial EPC projects. This is a "hands on" position that will require you to support all procurement activities from start to finish. This is a long term Contract opportunity that could turn into a direct hire job for the right candidate. Our client prefers candidates that are local, but will consider strong candidates that need a per diem. ***pay commensurate with experience level ***

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Complete procurements within specified time frames in a schedule-driven, project environment
- Perform commercial bid evaluations of supplier proposals and coordinate technical evaluations and recommendations
- Assist in expediting supplier submittals to facilitate the execution of agreements
- Prepare, evaluate, negotiate, expedite, and administer the procurement of equipment, materials, and subcontracts as assigned
- Coordinate all questions during the proposal period & facilitate pre-bid meetings
- Receive, log, distribute, tabulate, and analyze proposals
- Prepare purchase order documents, procurement status reports and expediting reports
- Expected to evaluate supplier's overall performance

REQUIREMENTS

- You need 7-20+ years of project procurement, project field procurement/materials management or EPC procurement related experience
- Ideal candidate will have procurement experience supporting large power plant or T&D/Substation construction projects
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Management, Construction or a related field, but will consider all applicants that have the necessary experience
- Contract administration, claims management and supervisory experience is preferred
- A proficiency in terms and conditions related to procurement of engineered equipment as well as strong negotiation skills is desired
- A CPM certification is considered a plus
