PROCUREMENT SOURCING ANALYST

Primary focus is in the transactional orders for low complexity goods and services obtained through outside suppliers. Actively builds knowledge and expertise in assigned focus areas and assists all corresponding focus area strategic sourcing managers with their tasks including but not limited to assisting in the sourcing process, collecting data for supplier performance, obtaining competitive bids, creating RFPs in the system, and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Functions as lead on all transactional/small dollar transactions in focus area, a backup for strategic sourcing managers in assigned focus areas and is responsible for maintaining contact with internal customers and key suppliers. Specific areas of focus include IT HW, Telecomm, Print, and SG&A

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

- Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain fields and 2-3 years of supply chain, procurement, or purchasing experience or equivalent combination of education and job-related experience
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PPT, and Excel
- Good written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
- Basic cost/price analysis skills
- Basic spreadsheet modelling skills
- Experience with PeopleSoft Procurement desired
- Experience with Contract Management and eSourcing technology desired

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Maintain strong relationships with local/tactical suppliers.
- Ensure usage of preferred and qualified suppliers.
- Assist strategic sourcing manager with the maintenance of key supplier relationships within the assigned focus area. Provide necessary research on performance, collect qualitative data, perform PPV audits, assist in preparation for supplier meetings and perform other market and cost analysis as needed.
- Assist strategic sourcing managers with the management of RFx processes through preparation in the eSourcing and Contract Management Tool, analysis, and contract negotiations as needed.
- Identify potential suppliers and enhance relationships with existing suppliers.
- Begins to develop a deeper knowledge in the assigned focus area and foster an environment of continuous learning.
- Develop a working understanding of the appropriate negotiation strategy and contract management techniques for low to moderately complex commodities within the assigned focus area.
- Supports the development and implementation of commodity strategies put into place by strategic sourcing managers first in assigned focus area, then in other focus areas as needed.
- Manage low dollar/low complexity bids.
- Ensure all RFI/RFP, negotiations and contracting documents are properly maintained.
- Assists business partners in procuring the goods/services which will best meet their business needs and remain in compliance with procurement policies.
- Researches different products upon request and offers recommendations to business partners.
- Completes the competitive bidding process for low to moderately complex commodities and associated internal customers.
- Offers recommendations in awarding contracts and making purchases without bias.
- Liaises with multi-location user community, providing solutions, support and superior customer service.
- Evaluates purchase requisitions received and places orders with vendors to provide the items requested by the business partners that best meet business needs and remain in compliance with procurement policies.
- Handles invoices and purchases order issues within the assigned focus area and then other focus areas as needed.
- Manages assigned procurement projects from start to finish, consulting with and updating status for the requesting department and leadership as necessary.
