Steria is hiring Procurement Officer at Leeds, UK

ROLE PURPOSE

- To add value to Client by applying professional expertise and leadership to deliver client business benefits
- To observe, and proactively apply, professional procurement standards in the achievement of business objectives
- Procurement/Contract specialist roles in client work as a flexible resource on assignments as required

JOB/ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

- Supports the embedding of corporate values, recognizes client corporate and individual business priorities, and champions the underpinning flexible and collaborative client operating model
- Ensures through all commercial activity, overall compliance with EU, Government and client policies/best practice eg EU legislative framework; Public sector sustainability agenda; understanding of and practical application of Program and Project management disciplines and techniques including the client approach to Risk Management.
- Develops, sustains and manages collaborative relationships between client and OGD
- Responsibility for own Continuous Professional Development

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

- Demonstrable procurement and commercial experience and expertise at the appropriate level and Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or
- Demonstrable procurement and commercial experience at the appropriate level and must be prepared to work towards the Advanced Diploma (Associate Level) standard of CIPS. This should be planned to be achieved within 2 years of taking up post Plus:
- Experience/knowledge of the commercial life cycle and proficient in the relevant national/international legislation eg EU procurement Directive
- Good analytical skills
- Supplier relationship management skills that extend across both supplier and customer organisations.
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written. Impact and influencing skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders in a meaningful way.
- An understanding of supplier performance management issues.
- An awareness of the regulatory framework and the ability to effectively and efficiently lead a team of commercial staff.
