Procurement Officer - Federal Government

A large Federal Government department is currently in search of an experienced PROCUREMENT OFFICER to join their team in Canberra for an initial 12 month contract with the view to extend up to two years.

You will be responsible for the following:

- Manage and/or conduct procurement approaches to market of all values and complexity, from start to finish
- Prepare all required procurement approach to market documentation
- Manage and/or conduct contract establishment, renewals, variations and finalisation
- Engage with stakeholders as required
- Provide advice and mentoring on procurement and contract administration matters to staff at all levels

To be successful, you need to possess the following:

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the formation of tender documentation, and experience in contract formulation and administration/management;
- Experience and knowledge of the ICT procurement environment including an understanding of the business requirements of IT clients;
- Knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Rules, policies and practices;
- Communication/negotiation skills of a high order;
- Knowledge of the Risk identification, evaluation and mitigation process
