Procurement Manager - Waste - Local Council/Government - MCIPS Preferred

One of the largest local government organisations has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager (Waste) who ideally holds a Professional qualification such as MCIPS or equivalent who will Provide added value procurement and contract management knowledge, expertise and service in a specified category to support the client in meeting its 3rd party supply requirements in terms of standards, cost, service and supply side risk management:

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

- Maintain a clear understanding of the Council's business strategies, ensuring that a Supplier strategy is developed and to input commercial and contractual expertise
- Set up including project management requirements of contracts for the supply of products and services: overseeing the specification of services, identification and sourcing strategy, negotiation of contracts, tendering, evaluation and recommendation of award.
- Conduct pro-active, continuous/service improvement approach and ensure relevant compliance
- Manage key supplier relationships to leverage the use of technology, skills and capabilities.
- Represent Procurement externally and with Senior Management, influencing and lobbying them

- Appropriate technical Procurement skills covering Procurement Process Management, Supply Base Analysis, Supply Chain Analysis, Market Knowledge, Negotiation, Contract Construction, Procurement Regulations, Supplier Relationship Management, Procurement Risk Management, Procurement Systems and Procurement Governance & Control.
- Develop innovative solutions to complex challenges and look beyond own professional area to identify the most effective ways of working.
