ROLE: PROCUREMENT CATEGORY MANAGER (TRAVEL AND MEETING FOCUS)

Role Purpose

For all company employees and healthcare professionals attending meetings on their behalf, ensure travel and meetings are booked in the most cost effective and compliant way, always ensuring traveller safety.

Key Role Activities

As principle point of contact for EU North (UK/Ireland/Nordics) cluster Travel and Meetings, manage the relationship with the global travel provider at EU North cluster level.

Lead sourcing strategy development that is aligned to the regional and global category and sourcing strategies, and strong participation in any relationship and system changes.

To lead a Travel Council of stakeholders and drive cost saving initiatives.

Manage Travel and Meeting suppliers/expenditure effectively and professionally by:

- Ensuring travel is booked in the most cost effective and compliant way
- Implementing a robust supplier relationship management process
- Supporting supplier diversity where appropriate
- Developing and implementing supplier enabled innovation (SEI)
- Accountable to implement and ensure compliance to the contractual obligations of the supply base
- Network with other cross and cross-sector to share and source examples of industry insights and best practices
- Creates tracks and delivers against metrics and G&O's to support the Regional Category and partners.

At a local level, manage the professional selection and relationships of events and logistics agencies for our client. As part of this, handling the procurement aspects of TOV reporting for our client. Where required, assist with other category sourcing requirements (marketing, medical and market access).

- Conduct preferred supplier selection in conjunction with the business
- Negotiate preferred rates and terms and conditions. Assist business with negotiations
- Monitor preferred supplier usage, raising non-compliance with Business Units and Procurement management
- Conduct detailed analysis of quotations, review of specifications and negotiate final price and contract terms for large one-off projects involving significant monies
- Develop and manage new and existing supplier relationships
- Identify and manage stakeholders, understand their needs and align Procurement and business unit objectives to deliver company strategic objectives.
- Build, develop and maintain strong relationship with business customer

Process implementation/procurement culture

- Manage day to day operational issues by establishing and implementing business management process and at times taking a hands on involvement when required
- Monitor service levels against either agreed contract or SLA. Conduct formal reviews with key suppliers on a regular basis with other companies. Provide agreed KPI's on supplier performance
- Track and record financial benefits monthly
- Participate in cross-functional projects and in some instances take leadership of such teams
