Ideally MCIPS qualified, you will be expected to manage a range of suppliers including one of our large framework contracts of significant value and complexity.
Indicative Experience:
Typically around 5 years experience of managing high value and complex procurements gained through industry or another government department
Demonstrable Procurement experience within one of the specific category areas - ICT, Professional Services, R&D, Technical.
Demonstrable experience of successful negotiation and achievement of savings using a category management approach
Leadership:
Own and ensure the delivery of the work package within the category area
Management of the stakeholders, customers and suppliers within the category area
Work Package Management:
Stakeholder management for contracts within your category area
Supplier management primarily of the major suppliers within the category area
May be expected to work as part of or lead a virtual team in the delivery of specific procurement projects, including the delivery of procurement shared services and joint procurements
Provision of accurate and timely management information and ensuring the peer group team are supported
Ensure the appropriate contract vehicles are utilised and make use of existing OGC and other Govt. Depts. Contracts
Manage the cost reduction program and contribute to the delivery of the category savings target identified in our strategic plan
Lead procurement improvement projects
Be the subject matter expert and coach on specific procurement areas as required
Delivery:
Successful delivery of customer requirements using the most appropriate operational procurement practices and processes
Strategic analysis - suppliers, supply markets, category research to develop and inform strategic sourcing
Effective delivery and management of the pipeline of work within the category area, ensuring delivery requirements are met
Identify, mitigate and manage risks
Contribute to the delivery of the savings targets for the financial year
