Procurement Lead

My Bristol based Public Sector client are seeking a Procurement Lead for a 9 month+ contract.

Background:
To manage the tendering process with potential suppliers, ensuring that that our client adheres to the appropriate legal standards and best practices which apply to the entire spectrum of purchasing and contracting activities with third parties. Maintaining awareness of legal (national and international), departmental and Governmental policy and regulations.

Key Tasks for the Procurement Lead:
* Ensures our client complies with legal, legislative and Government purchasing requirements, including OJEU, throughout the creation and issuing of invitations to tender and receipt and opening of responses.
* Promotes and follows best practice with regard to third party information security.
* Advises on policy and procedures covering identification of suppliers and issuing of tender documentation.
* Manages the tendering processes for IT Modernisation up to and including the evaluation and acceptance processes.
* Develops and maintains excellent relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders throughout the tendering processes.
* Uses knowledge of supplier markets to inform specifications.
* Acts as first point of contact when potential tenders require clarifications or other information.
* Research all procurement options: provide advicewe welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
