Procurement Lead

Currently we are searching for a Procurement Lead for a role based in London. This is for a client in the government sector and will require basic SC clearance. The client needs someone to start immediately and the initial contract will be until the end of 2014.

Background

The Procurement Lead will provide a link to the regional Competition Procurement Leads. They will support the Competition Procurement Leads by providing expert procurement advice and ensure that communications with bidders maintain integrity of competition. Key to the role is the ability to establish quality relationships with stakeholders and to ensure that quality outcomes are delivered at pace.

Main Duties/ Responsibilities

* Act as the link to the regional competition procurement teams

* Provide expert procurement advice on all aspects of the process

* Support regional procurement on aspects of the negotiations from the centre

* Ensure that communications with bidders do not compromise the integrity of the competition

* Draft procurement documentation

* Ensure that best practice is followed in all aspects of the competition

Outputs/ Deliverables to be achieved

Happy to formalise these once we have organised the team to peoples' strengths but here are some examples: - Quality set of procurement documentation produced and signed-off - Advice provided to regional competition teams on a timely basis - Detailed record of interactions with suppliers kept and passed to data room staff as appropriate.

Skills/ Experience Required

* Experience of procurement in the context of complex and time sensitive projects

* Advanced understanding of specialist procurement IT products

* Ability to work effectively in diverse, cross functional teams

* Effective communication and networking skills with diverse stakeholders

* Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

* Strong problem solving skills

Formal Qualifications Required

CIPS/MCIPS preferred but not essential
