BUYER/PROCUREMENT PROFESSIONAL needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in ROCHESTER, NY.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

- Purchases materials, equipment, supplies, services and commodity products.
- Evaluates bids, selects and recommends suppliers.
- Negotiates price, delivery, quality and service.
- Follows up on all awards through completion of order.
- Negotiates settlement(s) with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, and losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes.
- Evaluates and rates suppliers relative to production capability, performance and delivery.
- Performs financial analysis Return on Investment (ROI) for purchasing decisions.
- Responsible for low dollar purchases and tactical maintenance of all procurement systems (ie - expediting, de-expediting, purchase order maintenance, Rejection and Disposition Notification, Revision Change Notification).
- Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers and work in a team environment.
- Forecasts requirements, issues periodic reports on trends, negotiates pricing, discounts and contracts.
- Ability to understand all cost components for realizing full potential of savings/benefits.
- Ability to gather data and understand impact of all aspects of the Supply Chain

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BS in Business and two (2) years experience in a procurement organization or AA/AS Business with eight (8) years of experience in procurement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access desired.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Finance background is a bonus
- Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written
- Strong understanding of Procurement
- Strong understanding of MRP systems
- Must have good analytical, problem solving, planning and organizational skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast pace environment
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and integrating ways to decrease inventory from a purchasing perspective
