Procurement Engineer

PROCUREMENT ENGINEER - SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT, SUPPLIER PERFORMANCE, PROCUREMENT

A Procurement Engineer with Supplier Management, Supplier Performance, and Procurement skills/experience is required to work on a six month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Lancashire.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our client's team within the role of Procurement Engineer. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a similar environment.

OVERVIEW OF THE PROCUREMENT ENGINEER CONTRACT ROLE

The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role.

The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following;

- To provide Procurement support to the Procurement Team
- To prepare for and attend internal meetings
- Manage supplier performance to ensure on time delivery to a high standard of Quality

The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing the supplier and contract activities alongside the Procurement team to include:

- Supplier Management
- Cash Flow Management
- Quality Management
- Relationship Management
- Negotiations and cost reduction
- Support the management of priorities based on customer and IBP needs
- Supplier reporting - schedule adherence, EAC against budget, risks and opportunities and mitigation

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE PROCUREMENT ENGINEER

The following will be required of the successful candidate

- Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project Skills

The role is based in Lancashire - commutable from Preston, Blackpool, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool, Lancaster and Leeds.
