Procurement Category Manager O& M

A Renewable Energy client is looking for a Procurement Category Manager to work in their UK offices. The Procurement Category Manager role will be to support manage the tenders throughout the full process from writing documentation to award and post management. The client is looking for an individual, who will be able to start ASAP for a 6 month freelance contract. This role will require travel to Europe on a regular basis.

Job Description:

Procure parts and services for the operations, for the clients On and Offshore wind farms in Europe
Prepare tender documentation, together with evaluation, negotiation and award of contracts to ensure that cost effective procurement is achieved for the supply of goods and services
Contribute towards cost saving target and other procurement metrics of the CoC Renewable Procurement Department to increase profitability
Drive negotiations to the point of award
Develop and maintain interface with key technical commercial stakeholders to optimise operations and maintenance procurement
Advise, recommend on the appropriate make v buy commercial strategy to ensure that the correct services are outsourced
Utilise best practice purchasing techniques for responsible spend categories to ensure that EC & R's supplier effectiveness remains leading edge
Build, maintain effective supplier relationships ensuring their performance meets and at all times exceeds business expectations
Proactively and effectively support the clients procurement network
Utilise best practice systems to maximise procurement efficiency and effectiveness
The application of the clients procurement group wide tools and techniques
Perform required activities in use of SAP procurement system in a timely manner

Essential Skills:

Fluent English, German, Swedish or other languages would advantageous
Educated to University degree or equivalent
Experience in drafting and negotiating major contracts
Extended experience with SAP
Extensive procurement experience in the utility sector and preferably in the wind area
Understanding of risk and interface management
Strong communication skills, must be able to communicate at a high level with internal and external communication makers
Must have strong commercial acumen
High performance and results focus and a willingness to implement change
Strong focus on cost reduction and risk mitigation
