Procurement Advisor

PROCUREMENT ADVISOR with PUBLIC SECTOR PROCUREMENT EXPERIENCE required for INITIAL CONTRACT TO 31ST MARCH 2014 with PUBLIC SECTOR organisation in EDINBURGH.

Duties will include:

- Liaise with budget centre staff to ensure that resources are aligned to put contracts in place timeously
- Coordinating pre-contract work
- Work with staff to reduce off contract expenditure
- Securing cash savings
- Support the development of complex specifications
- Lead tender evaluations for complex requirements below £50k (whole life)
- Manage the debriefing of suppliers and liaise with legal advisors where necessary

Essential experience:

- Experience of Scottish public sector procurement
- Membership of a relevant professional body (ie MCIPS)

Candidates will be required to either already hold a valid basic Disclosure Scotland certificate or be willing and able to apply for one prior to CV submittal to the client.
