RESPONSIBILITIES

- Leads the global development (and implementation as appropriate) of large-impact continuous improvement in of biospecimen management, by utilizing Lean, Six Sigma etc. skills.
- Identifies and champions areas where process improvement can be made, and ensures linkages to other strategic projects are not overlooked.
- Provides project management oversight and expertise to partner with business lines to drive the development (and implementation as appropriate) of biospecimen management by employing consultancy, change management, continuous improvement, implementation, influencing, and communication methodologies.
- Provides the tools to successfully execute the biospecimen workflow strategy effort.
- Executes and leads workshops and groups to execute well designed biospecimen processes.
- Plans and manages the successful implementation of the project deliverables.
- Identifies and installs metrics to evaluate effectiveness of process improvements.
- Provides process/system design and optimization ideas.
- Partners with the Performance Analytics and Benchmarking group to provide business performance analysis support.
- Collaborates with the SOP and Training lines to ensure appropriate SOPs and Training are in place for all new processes.

SKILLS

Must have a Bachelor's-level education or equivalent in science or technical discipline with 7+ years of experience; Master's-level education in science, technical or business-based discipline with 5+ years of experience highly desired. Certification in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt tools and methodologies, SIX SIGMA MASTER BLACK BELT REQUIRED. Experience with Agile methodology desirable. Understanding of design for Six Sigma Principles required. Training in leadership skills, supervisory skills and change management skills is highly desired.

Must have a clinical trial execution or drug development background and experience implementing process improvement projects which influenced business or strategic outcomes. Experience using statistical software (SAS, Minitab, etc.) and various SPC tools (ie, control charts, process and measurement capability, iNexus) is required. Ability to build strong global and local networks across functions, lines and zones is essential. Must have strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to interact and influence with many levels of technical and business staff. Excellent analytical and organizational skills are required. Must also possess very good communication skills (both written and verbal). Strong Analytical skills are essential.
