ROLE - Process Excellence Manager

DURATION - 3 months

LOCATION - London

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

- To identify, quantify, plan and control business process analysis and improvement related activity to support, simplify and re-engineer processes in order to achieve positive customer, control and cost/revenue impact.
- To embed a culture of continuous improvement through Process Excellence by advocacy, dissemination and utilisation of relevant and appropriate methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
- To play a leading role in the Process Excellence programme team, owning and delivering process improvement projects to support the agreed portfolio.
- To play a lead role in developing people and approach capability of the Process Excellence programme.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Delivery of Process improvement tools and methodology to support delivery of change
- Improvement: As part of the delivery of Process Improvement Lead process improvement, analysis and business process management functions - either as standalone process re-engineering projects or as part of wider programmes of change
- Engage with internal customers in respect to Improvement project/programme(s) in order to:
- Develop and explore innovative options to understand, define and address business and external customer needs
- Define approach to be taken, methodologies and metrics to fulfil and substantiate improvement activities.
- Review the to-be end to end business process design and understand people/process and technology impacts.
- Design and develop frameworks to support the business in achieving Continuous Improvement
- Support business case development in support of process improvement.
- Manage and support the delivery of business & process improvement activity which maximise benefits and achieve the desired business outcomes.
- Plan Improvement Activity:  Ensure all governance, risk management, controls and compliance requirements are considered during development of improvement requirements and designs.
- Manage Improvement Activity: Support the development and implementation of new business processes, systems, products and services
- Manage interdependencies across projects/programmes and leverage synergies across projects/programmes/teams and the wider business to maximise return on investment.
- Build Leadership and Commitment: Provide specialist, objective and analytical insight on all business process design and analysis related activity on a change project. 
- Lead/contribute (as appropriate) to Project, Programme and Cluster level Design Authorities.
- Prepare and coach individuals to operate and lead within a Continuous Improvement culture.
- Manage and provide objective feedback to the business during each project

ORGANISATIONAL & PRACTICE DEVELOPMENT - PROCESS EXCELLENCE

- Actively define, own and implement ongoing uplift in the capability of Process Excellence Including, but not limited to people, capability, tools & methodologies and customer engagement models.
- Coach and mentor internal customers on the tools and methodology of continuous process improvement (Lean & Six Sigma)
- Support and mentor process improvement training to colleagues (as required)
- Actively support and participate in Process Excellence events in development of the programme.

PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (5%)

- Use the Continuous Improvement Toolkit and Project Management Toolkit to plan and deliver change projects
- Become a Subject Matter Expert in Continuous Improvement toolsets and methodologies (eg Lean and Six Sigma)

PERSON SPECIFICATION

- Provide effective management and support of the Process Excellence programme
- MUST demonstrate ability of strong project management experience in a leading capacity
- Understand the roles, responsibilities and value-add of Process Improvement and its portfolio of work
- Possess expertise in Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies, utilising appropriate tools at the right time (eg Lean and Six Sigma)
- Influencing/networking - developing internal and external business relationships and using own knowledge, skills and experience to influence others opinions and actions
- Professional communications - making oneself understood, sharing information, listening to and encouraging others to get involved
- Analysis, creativity and innovation - able to conceive original and practical solutions to complex and business critical problems
- Understand at a high level the interface between complex business needs and the complex legal and regulatory environment in which the business operates
- Ability to juggle priorities, multi- task and flawlessly execute at speed
- Sound commercial judgment and overall understanding of the Financial Services Industry, particularly the business impact of the regulatory environment
