2 Key Responsibilities: 2.1 To provide detailed analysis and design of assembly processes that accurately reflect product drawings, specifications and manufacturing considerations, including: 2.1.1 Method of assembly, i.e. manual vs. automation process choice, flow, throughput optimisation, tooling and handling 2.1.2 Recommendation of location strategy 2.1.3 Recommendation of best practices or alternative processes 2.1.4 Assignment of process synthetics to actions so as to establish process cycle times 2.2 To consistently deliver completed work within time constraints 2.3 To work effectively with design engineers and sales management to enable optimum and most cost effective production solutions to be proposed 2.4 To create quality supporting data to demonstrate productivity, manning and facility throughput 2.5 To produce detailed analyses of cell and shop layouts, incorporating lean layout and other customer requirements 2.6 To maintain, and where appropriate apply an up-to-date awareness of new and developing Manufacturing technologies 2.7 To effectively analyse customer driven and internal changes, including feasibility study 2.8 To promptly report potential and actual process changes to the Industrial Engineer for regular reporting purposes 2.9 To correctly analyse product changes and accurately record impact to process 2.10 To make value contributions to the FMEA procedure where necessary. 2.11 To organise and maintain an accurate and up-to-date joint distribution chart 2.12 To produce and maintain accurate and up-to-date metal trees or equivalent 2.13 To be an effective team member, working with supervisor and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow with maximum output 2.14 To demonstrate an awareness of H&S considerations and legislation, including ergonomics. 2.15 To be willing and available to work at company and customer premises in the UK. 3 Skills, Knowledge and Experience: 3.1 Good general level of Computer Literacy 3.1.1 Introduction to Outlook 2000 3.1.2 Excel 2000 Foundation 3.1.3 Word 2000 Foundation 3.2 Presentation skills 3.2.1 Introduction to Powerpoint 2000 3.3 knowledge of AUTOCAD 3.4 CLIP (In-House Costing System) 3.4.1 Knowledge of the use of Clip processes including occasional ops 3.4.2 Performance rating of manual processes 3.5 Knowledge of joining methods 3.6 Good Working Knowledge of VISION MOCKUP & tool design 3.7 Good Working Knowledge of CATIA & tool design To find out more about Huxley Associates, please visit
