Introduction:
The Materials &Device Technology (MDT) development center assures the development of competitive products by realizing the involved printing (imaging) processes with the correct print quality. reliability, time-to-market, and cost structure.

Project: new generation flatbed ink jet printer.

Position's main tasks:
- Carrying out printing experiments and testing on inkjet printer as well as characterizations and analyses of the print results. Examples are: print quality testing and analysis, determination of curing and emission levels, jetting reliability testing, ink consumption testing.
- Getting/keeping test printers in shape and preparing of abovementioned experiments/activities. This involves regular measurements of the start up status and behaviour of printers as well as preparing necessary (mostly mechanical) adaptations on and around the printer for specific tests.
- Ordering and keeping inventory of media and ink.Gathering of the relevant specs of media and inks.

All experiments and activities will be carried out under the guidance of the procede team. Test printers and their control software are still under development, so not fully engineered and intrinsically safe yet. Therefore, there is a need for affinity with safe working with equipment under development as well as with UV-inks. Proper instructions will be given, of course.

Required area of education: Physics
Required educational level: Bachelor
