Our Central Government Client requires a Print Publishing Officer for a 2 month contract based in Central London.

*Due to the nature of the role, Security Clearance will be required

The print publishing team are looking for someone at IO/PB4 level with publishing production/editing experience to fill a two month vacancy to cover expected absences during April - May 2013. Working in the Print Publishing team of buyers procuring print and creative services from central government contracts. You would be part of a team of four reporting to the PB5.

This is essentially a publishing project management role with end-to-end production control responsibilities for overseeing contractors from design/typesetting, through print production and mailing. You would be expected to have thorough knowledge of terminology/processes in all areas of publishing, including typesetting, print, online publishing, costing, scheduling and quality control.

Type of Publishing Projects:
This will include Departmental and Parliamentary publications, campaign collateral, printed consultations and other printed products.

Key Deliverables:
To provide sufficient specialist staff cover to ensure Client are able to meet it's commitment to deliver 3 high profile public consultations in conjunction with a high profile rail client. The project involves typesetting and printing of over 80 publications.

Essential skills:
- The successful candidate will be able to manage complex work and resources well, prioritising and remaining calm under pressure, and collaborating to deliver best value for all stakeholders
- An understanding of parliamentary publishing would be an advantage.

Desirable skills:
Experience of WL Immedia portal, SAP, Creative Choice portal, Adobe InDesign, Acrobat
