Principle Transport Planner

Capita, the UK's leading business process outsouring provider are looking to recruit contractors into our Property and Infrastructure division in the capacity of Transport Planning.

The Principal Transport Planner will be required to provide technical and management support to the Associate and Technical Director in the London office for the transportation team within Planning, Environment and Design. You will help to oversee the successful management and delivery of projects.
The Principal Transport Planner may also be required to assist the Business Development support for the Transport Planning team in London where appropriate.

You will be able to multitask and have the ability to take overall responsibility for numerous projects simultaneously. You will be required to undertake all tasks required on day to day running of projects at all stages, including Client and Contractor liaison..

You will possess excellent knowledge of all common Terms of Appointment documentation and take responsibility for bid proposals, client liaison, all design and planning issues, fee proposals and negotiations, job management, coordination for multi-project roles, and staff development.

You will have a proven capability and experience of outline and feasibility design of transport schemes as well as providing professional and technical advice on development proposals.

Part of your role will be managing public consultations and summarising responses along with needing exposure to planning issues associated with the development and delivery of walking, cycling, rail, bus, highways and multi-modal projects and active travel schemes.

You will need to have proven capability and experience of preparing and auditing Travel Plans in support of planning applications and experience of assessing the implications of development on surrounding transport networks

The ideal candidate will have a background of junction modelling (including ARCADY, LINSIG, PICADY and TRANSYT) and possess experience of micro-simulation modelling (Including PARAMICS), and strategic transport modelling (Including SATURN).

Exposure to demand modelling and traffic impact software packages including ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG, TRICS, Paramics. Intermediate CAD drafting and presentation skills is desired.

You will have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
