Principle Supplier Evaluation Engineer

Principle Supplier Evaluation and Development Engineer required to inform the business of the capability strengths and weaknesses of key suppliers and potential future suppliers, manage appropriate evaluations, risk assessments and undertake mitigation actions through continuous improvement activities. The role delivers and responds to supplier performance analysis and supports the co-ordination of relationship development approaches.

Typical activities will include the below:

Ensure the Master data on suppliers is maintained on the approved Company supply database.
Delivery of supplier evaluations and development plans for both specific and transversal suppliers for all tiers as appropriate. (This also includes potential suppliers).
Responsibility to understand our customer's requirements and the needs of the business in order to translate these into capability requirements from our supply chain.

Supporting and facilitating Multifunctional teams in Supplier Capability Evaluations at all tiers of the supply chain including:

Risk Assessment of Supplier's strengths and weaknesses in terms of Business, Technical, Manufacturing, Design and TLCM capability.
Responsible for Identifying and reducing gaps between a supplier's capabilities and our requirements by:
Undertaking specific detailed capability diagnostics.
Agreeing the activities a supplier needs to implement and improve their capability (Continual Sustainable Improvement Programme).
Ensuring that a supplier's capability improvements are achieved and maintained by monitoring responsiveness to improvement and operational performance.
Responding to supplier performance information as a result of analysis of Supplier Key Performance Indicators.
Delivering the Annual Supplier Performance Review Process with the Key Suppliers.
Supporting the co-ordination of supply chain Relationship Management.
Deliver SED Functional Improvement Plan activities.

The successful candidate will have the below skills:

Expert in understanding and use of Industry best practice methodologies & tools (eg IAQG, EFQM, AS9100, NADCAP, BS11000, SC21).
Strong Project Management techniques and tools in order to guarantee effective multi-functional evaluation and capability development of Suppliers.
Effective evaluation of suppliers business, technical, manufacturing, design and TLCM readiness.
Expertise in relationship management tools and techniques.
Good Understanding of Technical Readiness Levels and Supplier status.
Knowledge of risk management, identification, analysis, forecast and action planning.
Expertise in Business Excellence and Manufacturing Excellence tools and techniques.
Expertise in Shareholder supplier development tools and techniques.
Financial Analysis awareness.
Monitoring and reporting techniques.
Vendor rating methods and systems.
Experise in REACH requirements and management.
Expertise in Sustainable Procurement (SP) and its management.
Candidates must be willing to undergo a security vetting procedure.
