My client a leading energy provider is looking to enagage a PRINCIPLE PRODUCT AND PRICING DEVELOPER/ANALYST to join them at their London office on an initial 6 month contract.

VACANCY OVERVIEW: PRINCIPLE PRODUCT AND PRICING DEVELOPER

The PRINCIPAL PRODUCT AND PRICING DEVELOPER will be the senior point of expertise relating to I & C (Industrial and Commercial) pricing, products and operational solutions.

The PRINCIPLE PRODUCT AND PRICING DEVELOPER will lead the planning and development of technical supply propositions in order to meet the needs of I&C Customers and deliver the MTP. You will be required to engage with senior stakeholders, understand external trends and act on this information in order to produce recommendations on products and technical developments. You will be required to make decisions and recommendations based on the risk appetite of the business.

As PRINCIPAL PRODUCT AND PRICING DEVELOPER you will take ownership of technical development and configuration of key B2B pricing systems and models/tools with an emphasis on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

DELIVERABLES: PRINCIPLE PRODUCT AND PRICING DEVELOPER

- Manage large strategic B2B projects which require pricing, product and industry expertise, eg SMART, P272, DICE (Delivery of Industrial and Commercial Enhancements)
- Support, develop and act as a technical mentor to team members relating to VBA/MS Excel/MS Access, I&C process and system knowledge and industry
- Manage the interface between the Bespoke Pricing Team and Commercial Developments team ensuring that the correct priority calls are made on operational requests affecting the team's ability to conduct BAU activities
- Present product ideas, solutions and recommendations to the Margin Committee on behalf of the PRODUCT AND PRICING DEVELOPMENT Team
- Act as deputy to PRODUCT AND PRICING DEVELOPMENT Manager, particularly during annual leave
- Run innovation sessions to identify product options and produce detailed project plans in order to facilitate the delivery of the agreed options
- Produce, present and communicate the analysis of complex customer requirements, providing product recommendations.
- Complete feasibility studies and impact assessments on product ideas and understand the risk/reward balance associated with different delivery approaches
- Work alongside customers and prospects, third party intermediaries and internal Sales teams in order to conduct product trials which will prove demand for the product prior to full development
- Deliver new I&C supply products to market, creating virtual teams across several departments (Commercial Structuring, Bespoke Pricing, Pricing Development, Hedging, Portfolio Volume, Portfolio Management and Risk Analysis, Customer Strategy, Marketing Ops, I&C Sales, SME)
- Take a leading role in the Product Expert Group (PEG) meetings, presenting updates on innovation sessions and products currently in development. The PEG brings together the I&C supply product experts from around the business, reviews the feasibility and impact assessments of products and sets product development and maintenance priorities and allocates resources appropriately
- Develop and own off-system tools and templates used by B2B Pricing to generate and manage flexibility and bespoke fixed price quotes. Identifying areas for improvement and controls where necessary
- Provide the expertise on what is/is not possible taking into account operational constraints and deliver required system and procedural changes through to implementation.
- Create and maintain the tools required for B2B reporting which will include KPI/SLA monitor tools and Financial reporting tools for flexible product revenue and gross margin

SKILLS
- Is recognised as an expert in electricity pricing and B2B products
- Thorough understanding of the energy industry and the retail industry;
- In depth knowledge of key B2B systems (Quotations Manager, CC
- Ability to lead medium to large projects and drive change.
- Internal and external stakeholder management

TECHNICAL AND COMMERCIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: PRINCIPLE PRODUCT AND PRICING SPECIALIST

- ADVANCED SKILLS IN EXCEL MODELLING AND VBA;
- End to end understanding of the B2B business;
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to demonstrate initiative, influencing skills, and advanced communication skills with customers on technical matters;
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to generate insightful reports and the confidence to present complicated technical information in a simple and compelling way to key/strategic customers;
- Highly motivated and organised individual, with demonstrated ability of leading and managing projects through to delivery;
- Ability to challenge the way things are done and look at ways to optimise improvements to the business
