Principal Technical Specialist

My client, a leading QLD employer, is looking for two Principal Technical Specialist to join their team on a contract basis. You will be responsible for leading the conceptualisation, development, design, planning, testing and implementation of highly complex infrastructure architecture solutions for my client that enable the achievement of complex business requirements.

Responsibilities of the role include:

- Manage the design of highly complex and multi-faceted infrastructure based systems including application solutions; server and network configuration and layout; environment planning and design; Firewall planning; and user privileges, ensuring compliance with project requirements and safety engineering standards.
- Influence and provide expert technical advice and leadership to my clients Program/Project teams and key decision makers relating to Information Communication Technology (ICT) project infrastructure testing, development and on-going integration.
- Oversee and lead ICT technical implementations within a project management framework across multiple complex and diverse Organisational change programs and initiatives based on clients' business and technical requirements.
- Provide high level input and advice to the Manager Design Team on infrastructure development planning to ensure that service delivery meets future client demands.
- Work closely with other Design, Project, Operations and Architecture Office staff to manage collaborative relationships and consultations with senior stakeholders across the organisation and external technology vendors to develop, implement and integrate required changes to architecture, design and management of ICT infrastructure.
- Lead the continual development and improvement of technical designs and solution architectures and ensure strategic alignment to enterprise-wide business and ICT architectures within the whole Organisation.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

- Demonstrated strong technical solutions architecture, design and implementation experience in business, information, application, technology and security domains to deliver the agreed outcomes. (WITH FOCUS ON BUSINESS AND APPLICATION DOMAINS EXTENDING TO SOFTWARE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OR A FOCUS ON INFORMATION DOMAIN EXTENDING TO INTERFACES BETWEEN SYSTEMS BASED ON STANDARDS LIKE HL7, DICOM).
- Demonstrated ability to consult with Programs and Projects to determine their scope and requirements and to provide strategic, architectural, technical direction and guidance in a variety of solution specification areas and situations that cover business, information, application, technology and security domains.
- Demonstrated high level experience in researching, analysing and documenting solution design that will meet business requirements, non-functional requirements via industry-standard tools, like UML.
- Demonstrated ability to lead other team members (within the Design team and within the assigned project team) and complement others' skills and works with the aim to produce a cost-effective ICT solution.
