Principal Software Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be able to travel for customer meetings and on-site triage activities.
- Support multi-party working group meetings in a leadership role for triaging reported issues
- Isolate cause of failure and direction of further investigation by component teams from log analysis, knowledge of environment and test and verbal/written descriptions of the test failure
- Determine relationship to known issues
- Create defect summary in system that isolates defect for repair.
- Coordinate follow up isolation activities including specific testing and/or engineering builds
- Provide impact assessment as to defect/impairment on overall system performance and user impact.
- Close the loop on process with direction for fix where applicable as well as retest/analysis for fix determination
- Some travel Required

SKILLS:
- Strong coding skills in C/C++, with proven knowledge of reliable and robust coding practice for the development of highly reliable Embedded systems on multiple CPU platforms.
- Experience with development on iOS and/or Android.
- Experience with HTML5, SVG, CSS, JavaScript.
- Experience with Embedded Linux, including the boot loader, Linux Kernel, device drivers, and Flash-based file systems. In-depth knowledge of Linux device drivers and hardware interfaces would be a plus.
- Experience with Perl, Python, Shell Scripting and makefiles a plus.
- Working knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP/IP, DHCP, NAT, IGMP, HTTP, HTTPS, DLNA, DTCP, HLS. Knowledge of IPv6 and Broadband Forum standards such as TR-069 would be a plus. Knowledge of MPEG a plus.
- Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies a plus.
- Solid communication skills required. This position interfaces with the customer.
- Must also have experience in the following areas: Development, IOS, HTML, JavaScript within Software Engineering, Technology, Telecom field

REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in SW Engineering or equivalent
7+ years software development experience
