Principal Social Worker - Cornwall

Under the leadership and management of the Team Manager, the Principal Social Worker (PSW) will provide a statutory social work service, to children, young people and their families/carers to include high quality, timely and child focussed needs assessment, analysis, intervention, care planning and review appropriate to the work of the team or service unit.

The PSW will play a key role in developing, supporting and monitoring the competency and confidence of front line social work staff through developing, maintaining and championing expertise in specific areas of social work practice. Driving excellent practice based on research evidence and professional experience and supporting the achievement of improved outcomes for vulnerable children and young people, including safe, stable and permanent care.

Experience/ Qualifications

*Valid Social Work qualification.
*Minimum of 2 years post Qualified Social Work experience within a team.
*Experience of supervising staff
*The Qualified Social Worker must also be HCPC registered and have an up to date CRB check.
*The candidate must be a car driver.
