My client, a leading Pharmaceutical is looking for a extensively experienced Scientist/Particle Engineer.
Position purpose:
Leading all activities needed for the process development of the final step in DRUG SUBSTANCE SYNTHESES. Developed processes are the basis for the scale up of the drug substance step, leading to material within the specifications and meeting all requirements for the DRUG PRODUCT preparation.
Major accountabilities:
Main responsibility within pharmaceutical development is the development of drug substance finishing steps/particle engineering design processes, internally as well as in collaboration with external partners. This comprises all development stages from laboratory scale activities to transfer to Chemical Production in strong cooperation with chemical and pharmaceutical development.
Besides development activities also the lead of selected technical LIFE CYCLE MANAGEMENT PROJECTS IN AREA OF PARTICLE ENGINEERING IS NEEDED, with particular emphasis on DESIGNING TAILOR-MADE PARTICLE PROPERTIES BY APPLYING CLASSICAL AND NOVEL METHODS OF SURFACE ENGINEERING AND MODIFICATION. Novel and second-generation processes will be DEVELOPED, OPTIMIZED, PILOTED, AND EVENTUALLY SCALED TO PRODUCTION SCALE in close collaboration with other development departments, in particular with chemical development, and chemical production.
Mandatory education:
Highly skilled chemist, process or chemical engineer, materials engineer at Ph.D. level with a strong background in PARTICLE TECHNOLOGY.
Experience/Professional requirement:
1. Several years industrial experience in a development area, especially experience in the CRYSTALLIZATION/FILTRATION/DRYING AREA.
2. Post doc experience in a field relevant to the position or a few years of experience in an industrial setting, preferably in the design and scale-up of particulate processes as well as polymorphism, is a plus.
3. Broad scientific or technical knowledge in a specific area.
4. Advanced knowledge of laboratory and/or technical tools.
5. Good knowledge of software and computer tools.
6. Proficient in literature searches.
7. Good presentation skills and scientific/technical writing skills
Language:
Fluent in written and spoken English, basic or, preferably, advanced knowledge of German would be advantageous, but not a prerequisite.
