Principal Scientist

This position is for a bench scientist where lab work will include the use of targeted equipment for liposome production, centrifuges, microscopes, spectrometers and other lab tools. You will be a resourceful self-starter, capable of operating independently in the lab and able to create formulations and perform characterisation assays to understand the physicochemical properties of the systems being developed. Additionally you will contribute to the technical documentation of activities, both in notebook and online technical reports. You will be an excellent communicator, problem solver and will be an excellent team player.

Formulation work: The main responsibilities include:

- Formulation work: Design of Experiments to optimize formulation principle and/or define formulation design space
- Assessment of the formulations with physical and chemical stability (HPLC), compatibility with liposomal formulations.
- Characterization of liposomal formulations: physico-chemically (particle size, solubilisation) and chemically (HPLC)
- Reporting and communicating results orally and in writing in weekly updates (ppt format) and comprehensive reports (Word documents)

Background:

Working with special delivery systems like eg liposomal formulations (1-2 years minimum)

Ph.D degree in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biopharmaceutics or a closely related discipline.

Hands-on experience with liposome or nanoparticle drug delivery systems

Basic Knowledge of GMP and Regulations.
