THE JOB:

To work within the Naval Architecture Department, providing design and analysis tasks in support of the Company's programmes .Opportunity to see the full project life cycle from concept to completion.

Concept design, detailed design, support to build, delivery and in service support for submarine and surface ship platforms.

- Requirements definition, development and acceptance.
- General arrangement development.
- Hull form design and development.
- Assessment of buoyancy and stability characteristics.
- Resistance and propulsion assessment.
- Manoeuvring and control assessment.
- Shiplift and transfer system loading.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

- Professional/Chartered status supported by a degree or equivalent in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering.
- Knowledge of submarine or surface ship design standards and processes.
- Stability analysis using packages such as Paramarine, Tribon or NAPA.
- Hydrodynamic analysis, including CFD tools such as FLUENT.
- Experience of model testing and trials

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design reports and calculations
- Advice to Production, DTO and other shipyard department
