Next Ventures are executing a serch for a Principal level Wireless Optimization/SON Systems Engineer.
About the Position
We are seeking a Principal level Wireless Optimization/SON Systems Engineer for developing next-generation algorithms in the area of Self-Organizing Networks. The candidate will pursue research in area of SON in context of next generation heterogeneous cellular systems. The focus will remain on the radio access side of the cellular networks.
Your responsibilities include:
- Define and document new SON system requirements based on technology development and market requirement
- Perform system analysis and design of SON use cases for GSM, UMTS, LTE, LTE-Advanced
- Characterize behavior of SON Modules in lab and live network environments
- Specify and implement simulation models and software prototypes of SON use cases
- Analyze large data sets to identify opportunities for further improvement of SON capabilities
- Write technical documents and papers specifying technical requirements, solutions and product goals
- Author and present customer-facing presentations and written technical materials
- Key contributor to developing product strategies
Requirements & Qualifications (domain specific, partial qualifications taken into account)
Masters or PhD degree
10+ years' experience in radio network planning, troubleshooting and optimization of UMTS or LTE networks.
Experience with radio propagation planning, optimization of coverage and capacity, KPIs analysis, tuning of RAN configuration parameters, etc.
Knowledge of the mechanisms and algorithms of SON features, such as ANR, CCO, etc.
Knowledge of RF planning and optimization tools, drive test measurement tools, and service assurance tools.
Experience with at least one of the following programming languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Matlab
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Worldwide short-term travels are required
Hands-on and can-do attitude
Location
This is a Full time contractor position with 6 months renewable duration. This position will be based in our clients office in Dublin, Ireland. Need to travel overseas according to business needs.
