Principal Geophysicist

Senior/Team Lead Geophysicist- Aberdeen Progressive Global Energy are currently assisting a major Aberdeen company in their search to bring on board a new team member as a Senior/Team Lead Geophysicist. The position lies within an integrated project team and will focus initially on a series of Brown field Redevelopment Projects in the North Sea. The company have been a leading provider of operational and Subsurface personnel for over 13 years from their Aberdeen headquarters and have plans to expand to Norway and London over the next few years allowing excellent prospects for career development. The current team is made up of a number of Principal, Senior and Mid-Level staff from various disciplines including Reservoir Engineering, Geology and Geophysics, allowing the opportunity to develop less experienced staff as well as access to a number of high profile projects. The successful applicant must have the following skills: *Fluent verbal and written English *Microsoft Office Suite *Project management skills *Presentation techniques *2D and 3D seismic interpretation and analysis at the regional/basin scale and within field scale *Structural geology *Depth conversion methods *Mapping *Well planning and target definition *Uncertainty and risk assessment *Proficient in seismic interpretation workstation package (e.g. Petrel or Kingdom Software Beneficial skills include: *Principles of seismic acquisition and processing *Seismic spatial attribute analysis *Understanding of rock physics *Volumetric calculation *Conversant in reservoir engineering This is genuinely an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career while working with a number of the worlds leading operating companies and also offers the opportunity to be involved in office start-ups and company growth.
