Principal Engineer

A key Client of Huxley Associates is currently looking for an Analysis Engineer to add to their growing team of engineers inAberdeen. Based inAberdeen,UK, with an experienced and dedicated engineering team, together with QA, procurement and extensive workshop and yard facilities, the company specialise in taking engineering solutions from concept Front End Engineering Design (FEED), through detailed design, to manufacture and finished product. Job Description My client are looking for an Analysis Engineer skilled in Finite Element Analysis of product components and assemblies. The role involves the use of the best in class software packages to provide a robust and effective product analysis service in the design and development of Subsea products and systems. You will be a key member of our engineering team being the focal point for detailed analysis of our products. Working closely with other engineers, and drafters you will be involved with products from initial concept through to final build, test and verification. In addition the role involves the close support of the engineering team in establishing good analysis practices and actively promoting the effective application of FEA methods. The role requires the interpretation of internal and customer requirements to select the most effective method of addressing analysis problems, completing the required work and producing high quality reports. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator able to liaise effectively with colleagues, the projects department, customers and other 3rd parties. Our equipment covers a range of disciplines mainly in mechanical and structural engineering with elements of hydraulic controls & global system dynamics providing a challenging and interesting environment in which to apply engineering and analysis skills. Skills The right candidate will be highly proficient in FEA & associated software with a sound knowledge of the capabilities and application of FEA techniques. A strong background in non-linear FEA of mechanical assemblies with multiple gaps, contacts and friction would be an advantage. Experience in the analysis of elastomeric components and of CFD would be an advantage. Experience in global analysis of subsea riser systems would be a distinct advantage Minimum degree qualified, ideally with 5 years minimum experience in the oil & gas industry. Experience with ANSYS / Abaqus, Orcaflex & MathCad would be beneficial. Could this position interest you?
