Principal Engineer

A major American conglomerate company that produces a variety of commercial and consumer products, engineering services, and aerospace systems is currently seeking 2 Principal Engineers to perform detailed 2D and 3D finite element stress and dynamic analyses of gas turbine engine static structures and systems in the Phoenix, AZ, area. These are 8 month CONTRACT positions, with the possibility of extension. Local candidates only, no per diem available. US citizenship required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- As mentioned, perform 2D and 3D finite element stress and dynamic analyses of gas turbine engine static structures and systems including externals, piping and brackets using ANSYS and NASTRAN commercial codes
- Perform handbook calculations on bolted joints, pressure vessels, frame related structures
- Define and perform development and certification structural testing

REQUIREMENTS

- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years of aerospace or mechanical engineering industry experience
- Understanding of LCF and HCF life and heat transfer analysis techniques
- Knowledge of CATIA solid modeling tool is highly desirable
