Principal Designer

PRINCIPAL DESIGNER

To guide and support the Operations Team including project managers, engineers and field engineers.
Location: Surrey
Salary: £45-55K

The Job Role
Due to expansion plans over the next 2 years my client is wishing to employ a Principal Designer on a 1 year contract.

You will work within a dynamic ever evolving live environment, encountering both contracting staff and the general public.

Specifically the Principal Designer will identify, eliminate and control foreseeable risks for all parties within this capital projects ranging from £1million - £250 million. You will oversee the designers, principal contractor working within these projects and help with their planning, management, monitoring and coordination during the construction phase.

The ability to display a "can do" attitude is essential, whilst building relationships at all levels.

The Candidate

Sufficient knowledge of specific tasks to be undertaken and the risks which the work would entail.
Experience and successful health and safety management within the construction industry.
Experience in the ability to perform and meet the requirement within CDM Regulations 2015.
Experience and an understanding of engineering and construction management and methodologies associated with construction works.
NEBOSH Diploma and validated, member of the IOSH or an equivalent recognised body.
Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels.
To demonstrate appropriate actions in order to prevent harm to those carrying out construction work, or those that could be affected by the work.
