Principal Architect

This role is in support of the development of speech based navigation for applications and content exposed within the environment of an automobile. The candidate should have an understanding of how to architect production solutions for speech comprehension and response systems that operate external to a device along with a companion on-board speech navigation element. The candidate should have an understanding of how this speech solution is engineered to provide navigation of mobile device based applications and content. The candidate should have an in-depth understanding of the speech decoding and encoding process and how the process functional elements are distributed from the device and application through to speech processing functions.

Job Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or related field 
- 8-10 years related technical architect and development experience 
- Proficient in engineering cost estimates and economic analyses and models 
- Knowledge of wireless technologies standards and protocols (3GPP, Wi-Fi, WiMax, antennas, amplifiers, base stations, propagation, interference, spectrum) 
- Proficient in voice, video, and app technologies/protocols (circuit, VoIP, SIP, IMS, AIN, Camel, etc.) 
- Proficient in network and system architecture (subsystems, interfaces, H/W/S/W dependencies). 
- Proficient in message and conference systems and networks (multiple media, notification, presence, unified communications, video). 
- Knowledge in Network Management, Tools and Protocols (Configuration, IP network Address Management, Perf, Mgmt). 
- Understands Virtualization, Storage and Content Delivery Networks (Cloud, CDM, Grid, SAN). 
- Proficient in specifying and evaluating architecture requirements for RFXs. 

Desired Qualifications 

- Experience in integrating content and applications into a service delivery platform. 
- Deep experience in the development of speech based navigation for applications and content. 
- An understanding of how to architect production solutions for speech comprehension and response systems that operate external to a device along with a companion on-board speech navigation element. 
- In-depth understanding of the speech decoding and encoding process and how the process functional elements are distributed from the device and application through to speech processing functions.

The Architect will be responsible for technical design and development of Cloud Enabled Messaging/Provisioning APIs. The APIs will be part of the NRTC 2.1/2.2 Cloud Messaging Services and Commong Provisoning Services and will include an interface to CSI and a Back End message store platform. The architecture also includes deploying a 3rd party application in the Richardson Data Center and planning the hosting of Apache Servers.

Tasks include:

- Design RESTful API Service - considering REST objects, payload formats (JSON/XML) 
- Research the existing Telecom Back End services which will be exposed 
- Implement API Service using Apache Camel 
- Participate in Project Management calls 
- Participate in Architecture & Design calls 
- Plan deployment of API Service to development, testing and production 
- Participate in Capacity Planning for API service and enablers 
- Participate in Agile development process 

Requires minimum 2 years of Apache Camel Experience and should include expertise with Riak, HazelCast and RabbitMQ. Experience with Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP) using Apache CAMEL. Requires a minimum of a years experience with AMQP, STOMP, XMPP and SIP protocols.
