Located in Tameside, my Client Primary School is looking to raise attainment and give their Year 6 pupils an extra push in preparation for their SAT's tests in May. This is a full time role based across the two Year 6 classes and requires a confident graduate who has a strong academic background and the ability to work independently with pupils of varying levels of ability.

This is a more specialist role than that of the everyday classroom assistant, you may on occasion be required to support the class teachers however for the majority of this role you will work outside the classroom with small groups of children or on a 1:1 basis.

Previous experience working in a classroom based environment is desired for this role, you will be given support from teaching staff and the necessary resources to engage pupils. This is a full time role and is perfect for any graduates looking towards a career in teaching, if you have secured a place on a Primary PGCE/Teach-first/Schools direct for September 2013 we would love to hear from you!

Based in the Ashton-under-Lyne area of Tameside, the School is easily reachable via public transport. Direct access via train runs to Manchester Piccadilly station and bus routes run to the local areas of Oldham and east Manchester.

This is larger than your average Primary School with around 380 pupils on roll, mainly coming from a white British heritage. The proportion of students eligible for free school meals is around average, pupils with English as an additional language and special educational needs are below the national average. The School is extremely well resourced and has modern and up to date facilities throughout, children are given a strong start to their education in the Early Years Stage and this continues through to KS1 and KS2.
