Press Officer, 6 month contract, Warwickshire

Blue Skies have been exclusively briefed on an exciting new role based in Warwickshire. Our client, a not for profit membership organisation, are looking for a Press Officer to help support the smooth running of the day-to-day press office functions to include managing media cuttings and distribution, identifying responses, taking calls from the media and faciliting media interviews.

The Press Officer will be responsible for:
Managing the daily production and distribution of national media cuttings, weekly regional and trade cuttings.
Working with the Media Adviser to identify reactive communications needed.
Maintain and manage an up-to-date press office filing system.
Respond to enquiries from the media promptly with due regard to journalists' deadlines, directing technical enquiries to the appropriate advisor.
Draft press releases, position statements, syndicated articles and other material to the media as required.

Experience required for the role;
-Experience of verbally dealing with the media, such as national journalists;
-Writing for the media, e.g. newspapers, magazines (external forums).

This is fantastic opportunity for a Press Officer /Reporter to join a fast moving industry leading organisation to oversee communications to the media. Acting as a first point of contact you will be responsible for developing a network of key contacts within the media.
