Practice Guidance & Service Development Manager - Adult Social Care

My client, a local authority based in West Midlands is currently looking for a Practice Guidance and Service Development Manager to support the Service Manager for Service Development with the writing of a range of policy, protocol and staff guidance documents which need establishing or updating. This work needs progressing urgently as they are due to update the full suite of guidance, alongside an upgrade of the electronic policies and procedures manual for staff and managers.

My client needs someone with very strong skills in authoring clear, comprehensive and robust guidance and policy, able to engage with managers and staff in the process, to ensure the products are owned, understood and utilised as required. We are therefore looking for someone with a very good understanding of adult social care legislation and policy, including the implications of the pending reforms. Ideally, the candidate will be familiar with Carefirst, our Customer Records Management System.

The successful candidate will be able to quickly garner respect and engagement from the management and staff group, and draw on their skills in working at pace and with positive self-motivation to quickly demonstrate the ability to deliver on the agreed objectives.

This interim role will report to the Service Manager: Service Development and will be a 6 month assignment.
