An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Public Relations manager to work for a FTSE 100 Financial client based in their prestigious location Paddington, London

Location: London
Rate: £150 - £200 Per day
Duration: 9 months

Job Purpose
To play a full and active role in developing and maintaining successful relationships between the Client's PR(Public Relations) team and its external and internal audiences

On-going day-to-day management of these relationships to protect and enhance Client's brand reputation in our chosen markets

To manage, on both a proactive and reactive basis, stories and issues affecting the client and its external target audiences

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

*Full-time position with responsibility for developing and implementing proactive research led PR plans for the various UK business channels and the subsequent positioning of news stories with relevant media

*As an internal PR consultant the PR manager is responsible for providing expert counsel across the clients UK business and channels, while helping to shape and implement external communications plans that are aligned to specific business requirements

*Evaluation of media campaigns

*Production of materials to support media campaigns, business issues and company spokespeople

*On-going responsibility to ensure alignment of plans with business strategy and execution against agreed objectives

*Develop and maintain face to face business relationships with relevant personal finance and trade journalists which result in positive and increasing levels of coverage for the client's UK

*Primary point of contact for incoming media enquiries for national, regional, online and broadcast media

*Responsibility for handling and resolving customer complaints originated via the media and providing counsel that challenges the business to do what's right for both customer and business.

*Manage the corporate reputation of the client with key external audiences including media, industry bodies/government, customers and opinion formers

*Briefing and coaching of senior spokespeople

*As appropriate, develop PR activity to support the customer contact strategy of the business through creative use of media relations tactics

*Managing, developing and integrating social media within the communication mix

*Acting as a broadcast and print media spokesperson for the company where necessary

Desirable Knowledge/Skills required
*Working knowledge of personal finance media in the UK

*Exhibit a strong sense of news values and issues management

*Experience of the development, management and execution of proactive media campaigns,

*Experience of message development

*Knowledge of current issues and legislation facing the financial services industry, in particular the insurance sector

*Ideally some experience of acting as a media spokesperson on research/issues based topics

*Excellent inter-personal skills including proven stakeholder management capability

*Knowledge of PR/Communication techniques and mechanisms
