PR Manager

A large UK retailer are looking for a PR Manager with a strong senior account manager background, superior contacts across features and lifestyle journalists, substantial sponsorship and event management experience. This is a contract role for 5 months.

Key Accountabilities

Communication
- To implements proactive PR campaigns and assist in managing day to day media enquires encompassing a wide range of issues affecting the company.
- Responsibility for promoting an area of the business.
- Produce error free work

Stakeholder Management
- Identifies, builds and sustains effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders (such as analysts, journalists, opinion formers, bloggers and other media influencers) in order to deliver outstanding press outcomes for the business

Current Affairs
- Has a high level of media awareness and utilises these to identify opportunities and implications.
- Monitors the retail sector and analysts' reports on competitors, sharing industry insight with internal stakeholders.

Press and Public Relations Planning
- Has mastered PR skills eg drafting statements and writing press releases.
- Manages projects from start to finish, delivers them on time and in budget, is a quick thinker who is great at multi-tasking.
- Is a problem solver and enjoys working under intense pressure, to tight deadlines and confrontational media.
- Is able to focus energy into completing tasks and takes initiative. Has strong academic credentials, is commercially aware and has the confidence to liaise with board members.

Project Management
- Is able to manage large projects without supervision.

Communications
- Is able to acts as a spokesperson if Senior PR Manager or Head of Press is unavailable.
- Able to deal promptly with media enquires and business issues with the support of Senior PR Manager.
- Is available to be on 24 hour call when required.
- Proactively help ensure that good communications within the department and across branches and

PR agencies and the media, both mainstream and social media are maintained.

Knowledge and understanding of the tech press a bonus.
