Head of PR - Telecommunications - Berkshire

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Head of PR to join a leading telecommunications company in Berkshire. Offered on a 3 month contract you will be available for an immediate start. There will be 1-2 days a week travel to other offices.

Working in this role you will drive strategy and tactics, leading from the front to grow the PR for the organisation. The aim of the role is to increase company awareness to drive reputation amongst media and consumers so we are looking for someone with considerable consumer PR experience to devise and deliver the PR strategy in line with the company plan and brand strategy. You will understand the target audience, understand what makes them tick and how they are going to reach them, both directly through experiential activity and through the media. Working with other marketing disciplines and corporate affairs colleagues you will devise and deliver cut-through consumer campaigns and direct a market-leading press office function with a consistent and compelling message to media. To do this you will manage an internal team, internal stakeholders and agencies - setting monthly objectives and managing the annual budget.

Responsibilities:
*Team leadership - Manage an internal team of two PR Managers + also being the key Marketing interface with the internal Corporate Affairs team including at Board Level.
*BAU - Managing the consumer agency press office to maximise press impact of key news and developments and ensuring we have industry leading media relations - every single day. Oversee the monitoring, tracking and evaluation of all press coverage and the internal PR effort.
*Campaigns & Creative - Devise and manage key PR campaigns both PR specific and as part of a TTL process. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivery of proactive, bold and challenging campaigns across a variety of issues, products, services and initiatives.
*Commercial - Understand the business backdrop - both growth ambitions and immediate commercial objectives and the role PR plays in hitting the numbers. Be able to show a demonstrable return on investment and work with the wider business to show how PR helps them hit key KPI's (web traffic, footfall into store etc).
*Crisis/issues management - Some things we want/need to keep out of the press! When this is unavoidable it's how we best manage them and mitigate against a wave of sustained negative press coverage commentary. The successful candidate needs to be able to counsel the business on how the media will react to issues or initiatives, establish plans to manage the issue and work with agencies to contain it.

Knowledge and experience:
Must have:
*Significant in-house or agency PR experience in a senior role
*Proven track record of delivering successful PR campaigns.
*Experience managing agencies.
*Excellent understanding of the UK press, media relations skills & contacts.
*Crisis communications and issues management experience.
*Experience managing and leading a team.
*Experience dealing with senior management.
*Excellent standard of written and spoken English.
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
*Ability to produce and present compelling presentations and reports.
