My client, a leading automotive manufacturer, based in the West Midlands, are looking to recruit a Powertrain Warranty Recovery Engineer to join their Powertrain division on a long-term contract basis.

Position Description:
Powertrain Warranty Recovery Engineer:
Management of the P/T Warranty Recovery roadmap.
Compiling weekly and monthly status reports.
Project management recovery projects.
Organising & chairing project status review meetings with CoC areas and support functions.
Liaison with Central Quality, Suppliers, Purchasing and Engineering.
Setting up and facilitating Supplier Visits (WRAP events).

Skills Required:
Technical background preferably with knowledge of Powertrain engineering systems.
Competent IT skills especially in the use of MS Excel (eg pivot tables), Word and Powerpoint. Experience in collating and presenting analysis findings for verbal and written communication to others and be able to compile and present high quality reports for management consumption.
Competent negotiating skills.
DMAIC problem solving capability (Green Belt level).
Self motivated, driven and diligent.
Takes personal responsibility to progress projects through to delivery in a challenging environment. Must be able to engage individuals at all levels of the business and chair progress meetings with the client & Supplier managers.
Must be able to form effective relationships with key individuals and departments

Skills Preferred:
An understanding of design principles and the application of quality tools within an engineering environment.

Experience Required:
Proven ability to lead supplier negotiations.
Experience of working within an engineering, warranty returns/analysis or product development environment.
Experience in detailed data analysis to identify trends/patterns.

Experience Preferred:
Experience in using Analytical Warranty System (AWS) would be of benefit.

Education Required:
Degree in an engineering discipline preferred.
