POWERCENTER SYSTEM ENGINEER - CONTRACT - BELGIUM

REQUIREMENT SPECIFICATION:

The department is known as the knowledge center Business Intelligence'. BI is key for the services which are developed and offered towards the different business domains and companies of the bank group. This starts by collecting data from diverse operational systems (operational datastore, datawarehouses, datamarts). By doing this within the department, we come in contact with lots of bank insurance domains. Then, these data are offered with the help of extract-transform-load' (ETL) technology to an information layer' (IL), where reports and analyses can be done (f.e. Risk'). The involved business users use this data as a basis for their daily work, they often ask and need support. The development of these BI applications (the data acceptation, the storage of the data, the reporting and the quality of the data) is done with the bank's BI standard tools. The actual used ETL tools within OBS are: Powercenter, Metasuite, SAS and SAP BW. The reporting and analyses are done with the tools Business Objects (SAP), SAS and Qlickview. The department creates and offers services for BI development and BI tooling. The services for the BI tooling are for example infrastructure blueprints, security frameworks, monitoring, installation hotfixes, etc.

PROFILE:

- System technical profile with experience with Business Intelligence systems
- Knowledge of Powercenter and Powercenter big data is a must
- Able to involve quickly to work with new BI tools because the work can be determined by the peaks in workload within the different BI tooling teams (Qlikview, BO, SAP BW, SAS, Powercenter, Metasuite, )
- Besides operational system technical work in the Powercenter environment, being able to work on the structural management and optimisation of the Powercenter infrastructure.

By Operational system technical work (keep the tool up and running) we understand the following:

- Monitoring
- Daily follow-up and checks (incl performance)
- Resolve troubles in the tool environment
- Install hotfixes of the vendors so that the bugs in the tool are quickly solved
- Upgrade of the tool to new versions
- Releases between the different environments (development, acceptation, production)
- Create and maintain blueprints of the tooling environment so that the continualness of the knowledge can be guaranteed

By structural management and optimisation of the infrastructure we understand the following:

- Participate in studies about the technical ability to succeed and be a point of contact for the ICT architects/business analysts. We need your knowledge of Informatica PowerCenter Big Data Edition. You are able to transfer this knowledge to other Power Center system engineers and together with them, you do the research and implementations.
- You follow the market evolution of the tool, this for adjustments of the basic software like new OS, new version browser, as well for the evolution of the tool itself. This implicates that you will often receive Research & Development tasks to test new functionalities.

Required knowledge:

- Open systems
- Oracle/SQL
- Perl
- Subversion
- Experience with technologies like HADOOP and traditional data management infrastructures
- Informatica Powercenter administrator (actual version in bank: 9.6.1)
- Informatica Powercenter Big Data edition - strong in collaboration and communication with ICT and Business team.
